A quick reading of the scriptures will instantly dispel any notion that December 25 could be possibly be the birth day of Yahshua. The Jewish calendar was ordained by Yahweh at the exodus to begin in the month of Abib also known as Nisan.Exo 12:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.Exo 13:3 And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten. 4 This day came ye out in the month Abib.
The Months are: Month Name Approximately 1st Abib, or Nisan March/April 2nd Ziv, or Lyar April/May 3rd Sivan May/June 4th Tammuz June/July 5th Ab July/August 6th Elul August/September 7th Ethanin or Tishr September/October 8th Bul, or Marcheshvan October/November 9th Chislev November/December 10th Tebeth December/January 11th Shebat January/February 12th Adar February/March In Describing the events around the conception and birth of Christ, Luke tells us:
Luke 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.As seen above, the sixth month would be the Jewish month of Elul or roughly our month of September. (There are some who interpret verse 26 to mean the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy -- not the sixth month of the year. The phrase "in the xth month" appears numerous times in the Old Testament Hebrew writings, and once in the New Testament writings. In every one of its Hebrew occurrences it refers to a numbered month of the Biblical calendar, so it is reasonable to carry this meaning forward to the Greek occurrence. If this were speaking of the months of Elizabeth's pregnancy, it is logical that the greek phrase would be translated in the possessive case as "in the sixth month of her" or "in her sixth month", the same as it is in verse 36 only a few sentences later. From the scriptures we can see that the Holy Spirit came upon Mary soon after the angel’s greeting as Elizabeth was with child in the sixth month.
Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.Mary went to Elisabeth “with haste” (obviously to precede the birth of John) and was recognized as being with child upon her arrival.Luke 1:39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; 40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. 41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?Assuming that a pregnancy is nine months, and Mary left in haste sometime within Elisabeth’s sixth month, and spent three months with Elisabeth who then “brought forth a son”, these must have been the last three months of Elizabeth’s pregnancy...Luke 1:56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house. 57 Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son....and we can safely accept that Mary conceived within a couple of weeks from receiving the message of the angel.Knowing that Yahweh uses patterns, shadows, metaphores, parables, similitudes, and allegories to help in our understanding invisible spiritual principles...
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:and now knowing the approximate time of conception, it is fairly easy to determine the approximate days of both Yahshua's conception and birth by looking at the patterns thoughout scripture.Gal 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. 24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
The feast days of the Jews are one of the “shadows” of the “reality” of Christ used throughout the scriptures.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
The Jewish calendar with corresponding feasts Month Name Approximately Feast 1st Abib, or Nisan April Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits 3rd Sivan June Pentecost 7th Ethanin or Tishr October Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles 9th Chislev December Dedication 12th Adar March Purim The Feast of Passover celebrates redemption and is the initial feast of the Jews held on the 14th day of the first month of their calendar, Abib or Nisan.
Lev 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover. The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th day of Nisan and continues for a week.Lev 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. The Feast of Firstfruits is observed in the same week as the feast of Unleavened Bread. This feast is held on the sixteenth day of the month Nisan being the beginning of the barley harvest. In observance of this, sheafs of grain are waved before Yahweh.Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.The Feast of Weeks or Firtfruits was a harvest feast where loaves are waved before Yahweh. It was held 50 days (seven sabbaths plus 1) after Passover lasting one day.Lev 23:15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. 17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.The Feast of Trumpets was kept on the first day of the 7th month. This was a joyous occasion of the blowing of a silver trumpet for the gathering together of God’s people. It is a shadow of second coming of Jesus.Num 29:1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you... 2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the LORD; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish:The Feast of Atonement was kept on the 10 day of the 7th month and was the day the High priest was to offer an offering or atonement for the nation of Israel.Num 10:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. 3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
1 Thes 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Lev 16:29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: 30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.The Feast of Tabernacles (or Ingathering) was kept on the 15th day of the 7th month for 7 days. the 7 days shows that this pattern is of a time period, not of a single event as some of the other one day feast periods. It commemorated the time when the Israelites lived in tents in the wilderness reminding them of how they were sustained directy by God. It was also a reminder of their disobedience which caused them to wander for forty years in the desert. This is a shadow of the journey from sin that we experience out of the world (Egypt) through baptism (the Red Sea) through learning obedience and faith building (wandering in the desert) until our faith is strong enough to bring us into the “rest from our own works” (The Promised Land).Lev 23:34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD... ...42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: 43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.These are all shadows of Christ and Yahweh’s purpose in the earth. It is no accident or coincidence that Yahshua “the lamb of Yahweh” was killed on preparation day, the day before the Passover feast, the same day and time (between the 9th and 11th hours or 3-5PM) as the Passover lambs are killed for Passover as well as the second daily sacrafice...John 1:35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; 36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!...making Yahshua our Passover lamb and making Passover day, - the day of the Jewish redemption from Egypt - Our first day of redemption from the world. This leading to a walk without sin (seven days of no leaven)...Matt 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. 48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. 49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Mark 15:42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
Num 28:4 The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even; 5 And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering, mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil.
1 Cor 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:Three days after preparation day on the Feast day of Firstfruits Yahshua ascends to his Father and again descend down to us to form the Church as the single grain sheaf is lifted up and waved to Yahweh and brought down again as firstfruits.John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.While 50 days later on the feast day of Weeks (Firstfruits) the Holy Ghost descends on the believers on the day of Pentecost making the Church who will be lifted up at the sound of the Trumpet as the new firstfruits to Yahweh before salvation goes to the word after Christs return. Not as individual grain sheafs, but as a loaf bound together and hid in the body of Christ1 Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. In the same way as Yahshua’s death/resurrection reality casts it shadow in the feast days, his birth is also pattterned. There is no accident that, as we see from above, the Holy Ghost came upon Mary most likely within two weeks of Gabriel's visit. Two weeks from the angel's conversation with Mary would make the timeframe the Jewish month of Tishri or roughly October on our calendar. The Feast of Tabernacles (or Ingathering) was kept on the 15th day of the 7th month or Tishri. A literal translation of John 1:14 is: "And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father."1 Thes 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Lev 23:15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. 17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.... ...20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
Isa 66:18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. 19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
2 Cor 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.2 Pet 1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath showed me.
Seeing how Yahweh works, it is probably a good guess that Yahshua’s conception or when he “became flesh, and tabernacled among us” happended on the feast day of Tabernacles which took place within weeks of the angels visit and counting forward nine months of pregnancy, this unsurprisingly brings us to the 3rd month or Sivan, where the pattern of the birth of the Church is represented, on Pentecost day.
Month of Pregnancy Month Number Month Name Approximate Corresponding Month 1 7th Ethanin or Tishr September/October 2 8th Bul, or Marcheshvan October/November 3 9th Chislev November/December 4 10th Tebeth December/January 5 11th Shebat January/February 6 12th Adar February/March 7 1st Abib, or Nisan March/April 8 2nd Ziv, or Lyar April/May 9 3rd Sivan May/June Counting from the Feast of Passover held on the 14th day of the first month Abib (Nisan), 50 days forward to Pentecost, brings us to the sixth day of Sivan.
Yahshua is the “Son of MAN”
John 12:23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.Adam is a Shadow or pattern of Yahshua...Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.We already know the day on which the pattern, Adam/Man, was born.Luke 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
1Cor 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them... ...31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.We don’t have to do a lot of thinking to figure out which day Christ was born!
