The Wilderness Tabernacle

The graphic below shows a layout of the Tabernacle built by the Hebrew children in the wilderness in the pattern given to Moses by YHWH. The right portion shows a figure of the human body, the "earthly tabernacle" of YHWH. Each of the points corresponding to the spiritual steps to life are numbered and can be referred to for a better understanding.

Wilderness Tabernacle vs. Human Body

Blood - Death
1 The Christian Walk: Through faith the sinner accepts Yahshua as the sacrificial Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world - John 1:29, and accepts through faith that Yahshua died personally as a sacrifice for his past (2 Pet 1:8) sins, with 4 points of blood on the cross; head, two hands, and feet. He died that we might live.

Heb 13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
The Jewish Exodus: This is represented by the sacrifice of the Passover Lamb while still in the land of Egypt (a representation of the world) in the Hebrew children's exodus. The animal was sacrificed so the sacrificer might have life. The blood of the lamb was placed on the doorposts to repel the death angel.

Exo 12:21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover... ...27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses.
1Cor 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Water - Burial
2 The Christian Walk: Through faith, in the name of Yahshua, the sinner, through water baptism, dies, is buried with Yahshua, is reborn, and resurrected as a new creature with the laws of YHWH written in his heart and mind.

6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of(not in the oldest texts) his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him THROUGH THE FAITH of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

The Jewish Exodus: This is represented by the Hebrew children's crossing of the Red sea.
1 Cor 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Spirit - Resurrection

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
3 The Christian Walk: Through faith, The new Christian receives the baptism of the Holy Ghost along with his new gifts for the edification of the body of Yahshua.
Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Rom 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. . . . . . 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
The Jewish Exodus: This is represented by the Hebrew children's following the cloud of Glory.
1 Cor 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
NOTE: There is no literal bowl of oil sitting before the door of the Holy Place in the pattern given to Moses as portrayed in the picture above. The oil was contained in a horn which was carried by hand. This was drawn only to help in understanding the pattern.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Exo 29:4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. 5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod: 6 And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre. 7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

Exo 30:30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. 31 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

This is the end of the foundation portion of the building or walk, which preceeds our entering into the Perfecting, Maturing, or "Building" of the tabernacle. The scriptures give us a physical example on this very subject which every Christian should use to examine himself. In the book of Ezra the foundation of the temple was laid with much joy and thanksgiving:
Ezra 3:10 And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel. 11 And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.
However, after laying the foundation, the people stopped there and went on to build their own homes and take care of their own personal lives, not proceeding on to the erecting of the building portion of the temple leading to this rebuke by Haggai the prophet:
Hag 1:1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying, 2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built. 3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceiled houses, and this house lie waste? 5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
Many Christians accept Yahshua as their sacrifice for sin, are baptized in water, and some even baptized in the Holy Spirit, but do not enter beyond this foundation into the building or perfecting of their tabernacle in purging themselves from sin by following the Holy Spirit, "labouring" to enter the rest, where "perfected", they can be used as vessels unto honor:
2 Tim 2:19 ...And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Therefore LEAVING THE PRINCIPALS of the doctrine of Christ, let us GO ON UNTO PERFECTION; not laying again the FOUNDATION... Heb 6:1

Important Note: This period of building or maturing is associated throughout the scriptures with the number Forty. YHWH tells us that a Christian is perfected, or matures, through the trial of his faith:
Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;,

1 Pet 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:"
Forty symbolizes the building, maturing, or "Perfecting" of the tabernacle of YHWH especially the body of Yahshua "unto a Perfect Man", thus we see it used in many Biblical trials and temple building scenarios e.g. Rain for forty days and nights on Noah's ark, Yahshua tempted forty days in the wilderness, forty weeks building the wilderness tabernacle, The baby forty weeks in the womb, forty years building the temple, Moses on the mountain for forty days, etc. This period throughout scripture follows representations of the "Blood, water, and Spirit" (Death, Burial, and Ressurection) and the completion of it represents the ascension of Yahshua to YHWH's throne in heaven.
After their Passover (Blood), Passing through the Red Sea (Water), and Following the Cloud of Glory (Spirit), The Hebrew Children failed the forty day test in searching out the land. They then went on to mature for 40 years in the wilderness.
Num 14:33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness. 34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
The number 40 is made up of 5 (the biblical number of Grace) multiplied by 8 (the biblical number of new beginnings), thus passing the trial period under grace leads to a new beginning (see Scriptural Numbers).
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God (Blood) , which taketh away the sin of the world.

Mark 1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized (Water) of John in Jordan. 10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him (Spirit): 11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
Notice a pattern? This Pattern is used throughout the bible stories from Adam, to Noah, and Moses as a shadow of Yahshua and his salvation walk. Try this one.
Jonah 1:14 Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee. 15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea (Yahshua SACRIFICED to save others): and the sea ceased from her raging. 16 Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows. 17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights (Yahshua BURIED THREE DAYS AND NIGHTS). 2:1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, 2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice...
10 ...And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land (Yahshua RESSURECTED). 3:1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, 2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. 3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey. 4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown (Yahshua ON EARTH 40 DAYS BUILDING THE CHURCH BEFORE HIS ASCENSION).

Gen 7:12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights . 13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; 14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. 15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. 16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in (SPIRIT). 17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. 18 And the waters prevailed (WATER), and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. 20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died (BLOOD) that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

All of this pointing to Yahshua:

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.(Spirit) 31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. 33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: 34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water(Blood & Water)...

Then after his resurection:

...Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3 To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days(Forty days building the church or temple of YHWH till ascension), and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

40 - Trial
(Perfecting or Maturing)
4 The Christian Walk: Yahshua said "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep." Through faith in Yahshua, The new Christian being fully Sanctified and Anointed by following the foundation principals, leaves the foundation and enters ("through the veiled tabernacle door") his trial or maturation/perfection period under Grace. He will remain there in repetition of steps 5, 6, and 7 until, through constant exercise in reading the Word, Praying, and following the Holy Spirit (labouring to enter the rest) he becomes a mature meat eating Christian without spot wrinlkle or blemish (no sin, and in obedience to the urgings of the Holy Ghost). He can then enter into the rest of YHWH (ceasing from his own works and allowing his body to be totally controlled by the Holy Spirit) and be used as a "vessel unto honour".
Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation...

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
This is represented by the Priests in the temple going about the daily temple duties of (1) eating the shewbread (studying the word or "eating the Bread of Life"), (2) lighting the incense (Intercessory prayer), and (3) tending the lamp (Shining light or following the urging of the Holy Ghost) until the appropriate time, once a year when he could enter the Most Holy Place. This is also represented by the circular wanderings of the Hebrew children, (1) eating Manna, (2) Moses interceeding in prayer on the mountain, and (3) following the pillar of fire at the whim of the Holy Spirit. This section of the pattern is the repetition or "exercise" of obedience to the word and spirit...
The Jewish Exodus: This is represented by the Hebrew children's leaving the world and entering the wilderness to begin their forty years of trial.
John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
